This course is designed for analysts involved in incident response and countermeasures implementation. It aims to help the student better understand Snort/Sourcefire rules, how to use them, and how to write them. Students also practice analyzing a malware report and implementing the technical information in Sourcefire rules.

Understand how to write regular expressions, create signatures, identify poorly written signatures, as well as identify information in PCAP data and malware analysis to use for creating alerts
