Course Description

This module provides basic knowledge and understanding of fundamental concepts of Internet of Things (IoT). This includes: Overview of IoT that is required from design perspective, Details of technical building blocks of IoT, Concepts of machine learning and data analytics in IoT, Communication and security challenges in IoT, Common industry use cases 

Learning Objectives

Be able to explain the fundamental concepts behind the development of Internet of Things framework, Be able to understand the evolution of the paradigm, its benefits and challenges, and the technologies of IoT, Be able to discuss various sensors available and their role in in IoT, Be able to highlight security issues in IoT, Be able understand the significance of Edge and Fog computing in IoT, Be able understand the type of Machine learning and data and data analytics problems that are encountered in IoT environment.
