This course mainly covers the design and implementation of secure software. The characteristics of secure software, security role in the development lifecycle, the designing secure software, and best security programming practices will be covered.
Learning Objectives
Students who complete this course successfully will be able to: 1) describe the security goal and values in software engineering; 2) measure and identify the weakness in the system; 3) incorporate requirements into secured software development process and test software for security vulnerability; 4) apply secure design principles for developing attack resistant software product; 5) identify vulnerable code in implemented software and describe attack consequences.
