NICCS Education & Training Catalog FAQ
Please note, CISA does not own the training courses listed in the NICCS Education & Training Catalog. For questions about a specific course, please contact the course provider directly.
- There are several ways to search for courses in the NICCS Education & Training Catalog. Use the different search options to filter for courses by keyword, delivery method, location, proficiency level, provider, NICE Framework Work Role Category, Work Role, Competency Area, and more.
- To search for entry-level courses for beginners, select the No Proficiency or Basic options under the Proficiency Level section.
- To find courses related to the tasks, knowledge, or skills (TKS) you are interested in pursuing, use the NICE Framework search features to identify the Work Roles that utilize these TKS statements. You can then search for these Work Roles in the Education & Training Catalog to find courses that will align to your education and training goals.
- NICCS does not own, endorse, or manage the courses in the Education & Training Catalog. The Catalog is a repository of cybersecurity-related courses from hundreds of different providers. The individual organizations who provide the training are responsible for each of their courses and the content within them.
- Each course listing in the Catalog has a call out box on the right side of the page that starts with the text, “Visit course page for more information on… <course title>.” Visit that course page and contact the organization providing the training directly if you have any questions about course content, certifications, cost, CEUs, etc.
- Directly email the organization that provides the course you are interested in taking to identify which courses are free. Also, CISA Learning provides no-cost courses to federal government employees, contractors, Veterans, and the public.
- If your organization provides cybersecurity training, you can go through a process to add them to the Education & Training Catalog. Visit the Add Your Courses to NICCS page and fill out the Vendor Vetting Form.
- If approved, you will be required to map your courses to the NICE Framework Work Roles and/or Competency Areas and submit them through a specific process to be imported into the Catalog. The NICCS team will provide you with a user guide and assistance in mapping your courses to the Catalog.
- Courses in the Education & Training Catalog are vetted by NICCS, meaning the hosting organizations undergo a review process to ensure that the courses listed in the Catalog are offered by legitimate organizations that are recognized as providing quality resources. NICCS does not endorse any individual course or organization.
