This course serves as a foundation course for fundamental cybersecurity knowledge, skills and abilities required for all cybersecurity work roles as defined by the NIST National Initiative for Cybersecurity Education (NICE) Cybersecurity Workforce Framework. It focuses on the basic elements of cybersecurity, ethical behavior expectations and cybersecurity work roles. It describes common security terms and concepts, including basic system threats and attacks, the actors/agents that would perform them, and addresses mechanisms that can be implemented to secure systems.
Students should have a basic familiarity with computer concepts.
