Course Overview
Learning Objectives
1. Identify and describe the common physical and logical networking components.
2. Articulate and demonstrate mastery of the OSI model and how it relates to the IP protocol stack.
3. Illustrate basic knowledge of the fundamental concepts of TCP, UDP, and ICMP.
4. Define various networking protocols, and their operation in the transfer of data from a PC to an Internet
Web Server.
5. Define the basic structure of TCP/IP and demonstrate subnetting of the IP addresses.
6. Compare and contrast routing and switching functionality including an understanding of when each
should be used and why.
