Learning Objectives

Students completing this course should be able to:

  • Understand basic traffic flow theory associated with the ASA Adaptive Security Devices as evidenced by laboratory activities and theoretical testing.
  • Configure and analyze router management options, interface configurations, and routing services as evidenced by the completion of laboratory activities and theoretical testing.
  • Configure and analyze ASA management features, interface configurations, network address translation, routing options, network-objects, zone policies and access-control lists using a physical firewall appliance as evidenced by the completion of laboratory activities and theoretical testing.
  • Apply the functionality associated with the firewalls ASDM to configure the firewall as evidenced by small group hands-on laboratory activities and theoretical testing.
  • Provide an opportunity to participate in an integrated laboratory activity which incorporates all aspects of the routing security and ASA appliance fundamental configurations as evidenced by the completion of a small group laboratory team project.
