Learning Objectives|At the conclusion of the course students will be able to|Apply basic and advanced internet search techniques|Investigate IP website and email sourcing|Understand Social Network Analysis|Understand the structure of the internet|Apply appropriate evidence capture methodologies in internet investigations|Understand firewalls, encryption and secure communications COMSEC|Identify evidential and intelligence opportunities to develop internet investigations|Apply appropriate safeguards when operating online to protect tactics including anonymisation|Demonstrate the investigative value of digital images and websites|Understand legislation and procedural practices which may influence internet investigations|Practice investigator privacy and safety and demonstrate the creation and maintenance of effective deployment of an online persona|Demonstrate the tracing of subjects and commodities through current and historic websites, IP and email traces using specialist network investigation techniques|Understand contemporary technologies and their impact on investigations anonymizing software|Utilize Geolocation, image metadata and image scrubbing|What is included?|On successful completion of the course students will receive| An Ulster University Certificate and 4.5 US Department of Education recognized Higher Education credit points which equate to 20 UK University CPE/CPD points|Accredited digital study material|Access to our University Blackboard Training platform|Access to our peer noticeboard|Students' successful completion of our three courses in this series will see a further award of a University Certificate in Continuous Professional Development.
