Advanced Web Applications

The primary purpose of the course is to guide students through planning, coding and testing a complete web application. Students will build upon their acquired knowledge of the web and applications as well as continued exposure to user-centered design principles. The course will provide hands-on experience and shall include discussion and exploration of practical implications of emerging trends in web design and development.

Learning Objectives

  1. Implement modern techniques related to the planning, production and management of medium to large websites.
  2. Design, implement, test, and debug complex web applications.
  3. Understand the role of databases and database management within a web application context.
  4. Research and use existing frameworks.
  5. Demonstrate knowledge and use of control structures in procedural programming.
  6. Evaluate and use algorithms for the purpose of solving common computing tasks.
  7. Explore and incorporate security measures.
  8. Utilize content versioning systems.
