Learning Objectives

Examine the six advantages of cloud computing as defined by AWS. Determine networking’s total cost of ownership (TCO) and the AWS pricing model. Analyze the AWS global infrastructure, regions and availability zones (AZs). Commission AWS Compute services such as EC2, Lambda and Elastic Beanstalk Review AWS Storage options such as S3, EBS, EFS, Glacier and the data storage lifecycle. Explore the structure of AWS Virtual Private Cloud (VPC), the role of Security Groups, and importance of AWS CloudFront and Content Delivery Network (CDN). Review the myriad AWS Database services including RDS options, Aurora, DynamoDB and Amazon Redshift. Recognize the importance of AWS Elastic Load Balancer (ELB), Amazon CloudWatch and Auto Scaling. Understand the AWS Shared Responsibility model regarding security, and the role of AWS Identity and Access Management (IAM). Review the 5 pillars of the AWS Well-Architected Framework. Examine AWS billing and consolidated accounting features.
