CompTIA Security+

In today’s Information Technology world, Computer Security is a key element in protecting ones data and network infrastructure. This is why more and more IT Managers prefer to employ people that have a Computer Security. In order to qualify for the Security+ course, the student must have some type of certification (i.e. A+ or Network+), networking experience, or knowledge and expertise in a related field prior to joining this course.

Our Security+ course will teach the student different security practices in the industry by defining General Security Concepts (i.e. Access Control, Authentication, Attacks, Malicious Code, etc..), Communication Security (i.e. Remote Access, Email, Web, File Transfer, Wireless, etc..), Network Infrastructure Security (i.e. Devices, Media, Topologies, Intrusion Detection, & Security Baselines), Basics of Cryptography (i.e. Algorithms, Cryptography, PKI, Standards & Protocols, Key Management/Certificate Lifecycle), and Operational/Organizational Security (i.e. Physical Security, Disaster Recovery, Business Continuity, Policy & Procedures, etc..).

Students will be discussing many different aspects of Security such as IPSEC (Internet Protocol Security), Hardware/Software Firewalls, Subnet Masking and DMZ (Demilitarized Zone) to name a few. After completing the Security+ Certification, students can qualify to work as a Computer/Network Security Support Specialist
