Course Description

More than ever, individuals and businesses rely on Web surfing for variety of functions, including buying products, searching for jobs, sharing data, and entertainment. However, there are many threats involved if a network is not secure, which is why we value network administrators.

Learning Objectives

In this course, students have the opportunity to gain the insight and skill of a network administrator. They examine concepts, components, and design of information and communication infrastructures. Students learn about the design of the Internet protocol stack, the structure and function of important Internet services and applications, and Internet governance. They engage in hands-on lab exercises involving configuration of settings, management of local user accounts, and design of different types of networks.
