Course Description

CompTIA PenTest+ is a certification for cybersecurity professionals tasked with penetration testing, vulnerability assessment, and management. The most qualified cybersecurity professionals have both offensive red team and defensive blue team skillsets which enable these professionals to discover system flaws and provide thorough recommendations to increase the overall security posture. This exam assesses the most up-to-date and industry-accepted penetration testing and vulnerability assessment methodologies and tools that are utilized to effectively determine the resiliency of a system against attacks. It is a unique exam requiring a candidate to demonstrate hands-on ability and knowledge to test devices in new environments such as the cloud and mobile networks, as well as traditional Enterprise IT architectures.

Learn the intermediate skills and best practices required to customize assessment frameworks to effectively collaborate on and report findings and communicate recommended strategies to improve the overall state of IT security. Earn the PenTest+ certification to further your career within the CompTIA recommended cybersecurity career pathway and meet DoD Directive 8140 for Cybersecurity Service Provider (CSSP) Analyst, Incident Responder, and Auditor roles. Knowledge of ports, protocols, and services and how to successfully pivot within networks is strongly encouraged before taking PenTest+.
