Course Description

During the four-day course, students will prepare for the CIPP exam and learn:
• Introduction to the U.S. Privacy Environment
• Limits on Private-sector Collection and Use of Data
• Government and Court Access to Private-sector Information
• Workplace Privacy
• State Privacy Laws

Learning Objectives

Foundational understanding of global concepts of privacy and data protection law and practice. Knowledge of jurisdictional laws, regulations, and enforcement models; essential privacy concepts and principals; legal requirements for handling and transferring data; the limits on Private sector Collection and Use of Data. Understanding of Government and Court Access to Private sector Information, Workplace Privacy and State Privacy Laws.
