Students will learn what is involved in becoming a successful project manager. The course covers the foundations of IT project management: project integration, scope, time, cost, quality, human resources, communications, risk and procurement and will include case studies of multiple projects, both successful and failed.
Learning Objectives
BY the end of the course the student will be able to do the following in each objective category: Analyze and understand risk management and threat awareness Research, formulate and critique security policies regarding the collection, preservation, safeguarding and disposition of log data and personally identifiable information. Research, formulate and critique security policies regarding the security of computer systems and the services that they provide. Plan, design, implement, analyze ze, integrate, and troubleshoot simple and complex networks. Create, follow, and meet objectives of a project plan and recognize the need for adaptation, adjustments, and restructuring of the plan, both as an individual IT professional, and in a team environment. Demonstrate effective oral and written communications with supervisors, subordinates, team members and clients. In particular students should exhibit lucid, clear and concise technical and professional communication as well as be able to communicate complex technical ideas in layman’s terms to non- technically trained people. Provide network and computer support in a responsible and ethical manner, and comprehend and comply with applicable laws and regulatory standards. Respect different cultures, customs, and professional technical methods and procedures inherent in an industry with many differences based on locality or region.
