Course Description

This course is designed to provide students with a fundamental understanding of the Linux operating system environment. Students successfully completing this course will be able to perform Linux installation and package management; execute common Linux commands and utilities; and accomplish different system tasks such as navigating the filesystem and utilizing the resources of a basic Linux system.

Learning Objectives

Interact with shells and commands using the command line.
Perform basic file management and locate system files.
Perform basic text file tasks and manage processes.
Perform advanced file management tasks.
Describe and configure the Linux boot process and install a boot manager.
Design hard disk layout and create partitions and filesystems.
Manage disk quotas and maintain the integrity of filesystems.
Describe and use package management.
