No prerequisites are required to participate; however, an intermediate-level knowledge of security fundamentals such as firewalls, secure development, encryption, and identity and access management is recommended.
To qualify for CISSP certification, you must have at least 5 years of professional experience in two or more of the eight CISSP Domains. Candidates can satisfy the experience requirement with four years of work experience if they have a four-year college degree or an approved credential from the CISSP prerequisite pathway. SSCP Certification counts toward one year of experience.
The main objectives of CISSP training are to prepare candidates for the CISSP certification exam by covering key security concepts and the eight domains of the CISSP Common Body of Knowledge (CBK). This includes understanding security governance, risk management, asset security, security architecture, communication and network security, identity and access management (IAM), security assessment and testing, security operations, and software development security. Additionally, training focuses on ethics, professionalism, and exam preparation through practice questions and quizzes. Ultimately, CISSP training aims to equip candidates with the knowledge and skills needed to succeed as information security professionals and pass the certification exam.
