Course Description

The Global Institute of Technology ‘Computer and Network Support Technician Program’ or ‘IT and Cybersecurity Program’ is a Diploma program designed to prepare student for entry level employment in the field of Information technology.

Student will build a foundation in basic programming, characteristics and performance enhancing features of personal computers and servers, hardware and operating systems (including Microsoft, as well as different distributions of Linux) supported by virtualization tools and networks infrastructure. Student will also learn about data center technologies that supports small- and medium-sized businesses.

Learning Objectives

  • The Computer & Networking Support Technician program will provide students with a strong foundation on which to build a successful career in Information Technology. Students will be exposed to the core principles and procedures of networking concepts, office applications, computer hardware and software, and desktop and server operating systems. They will also be exposed to the unique challenges of the IT business world and become skilled in customer service essentials.
  • This program emphasizes hands-on learning experiences (software and hardware) based on performance-based objectives and incorporates troubleshooting techniques in every course. Upon completion of this program, students will be trained for entry level positions in the IT field as Computer and Information Systems Technicians, Software Support Technicians, Systems Administrator, Computer Support Specialist, Help Desk Support Technician, and other employment in the Information Technology field.
