Gain an understanding of the history of multilevel security systems and how they can be applied to solve challenging system engineering problems involving data from multiple security domains. An overview of existing MLS technologies and foundational concepts necessary to build a new system, MLS accreditation processes, existing MLS solutions, and the risk management process associated with MLS will be covered. Students will additionally gain an understanding of how to test a multilevel security system and the trade-offs associated with introducing multilevel concepts to an existing system architecture.
Learning Objectives
- Describe multilevel security fundamentals
- Identify basic multilevel security technical requirements
- Evaluate effective testing of a multilevel security system
- Recognize how a multilevel security system might be attacked
