This course will provide students with a background in virtualization technology needed to advance in today's technology workplace. Students will learn about the latest virtualization technology. Upon successful course completion, students will be able to explain virtualization, configure workstation virtualization products, and design, manage, and configure, and monitor virtual machines in a virtualized IT environment.
Learning Objectives
Explain how virtualization works in a hosted hypervisor setting by writing a brief summary of the virtualization process. Configure the major workstation virtualization products and load an operating system on each installation. Install and configure various types of Virtual Servers and PCs on a hosted desktop. Configure a web-based interface with each virtualization product and load an operating system on each installation. Successfully demonstrate the process for creating and customizing virtual machines and virtual hard disks in a virtualized IT environment. Use tools designed to monitor and optimize virtual machine performance in a virtualized environment.
