Course Description

CompTIA A+ Essentials is designed to explore the physical and functional characteristics of computer devices and components as well as trends in computer architecture. Emphasis will be placed on configuring a microcomputer, troubleshooting, interrupts, device and memory management, virtual memory and paging, file management, and performance analysis. As part of this course, you will be required to complete the current CompTIA A+ Essentials (220-1001) certification exam.

Learning Objectives

Successful students will have the knowledge required to:

  • Assemble components based on customer requirements
  • Install, configure, and maintain PCs, mobile devices, and software for end users
  • Understand the basics of networking and security forensics
  • Properly and safely diagnose, resolve, and document common hardware and software issues
  • Apply troubleshooting skills
  • Provide appropriate customer support
  • Understand the basics of scripting, virtualization, desktop imaging, and deployment
