This course is designed to introduces students to the foundational concepts behind the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) Special Publication (SP) 800-171 and related publications without the context of the Department of Defense (DoD) Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification (CMMC) program.
Learning Objectives
Over a 2-day period students will learn about how NIST SP 800-171 (and its related 800-171A) were developed, the purpose, it's structure, and an introduction to the 110 security controls across 14 families. Aside from a basic reference, this course covers NIST SP 800-171 without the context of the CMMC.
