Course Description

This A+ Certification course is designed for someone who is interested in Computer Help Desk Support and/or Computer Hardware/Software Repair. In today’s job market, having the correct skills and qualifications will ensure you a competitive chance at achieving your employment goals.

This course will allow the student to first learn installation, troubleshooting, and upgrading of PC computers. The class is focused with HANDS-ON experience by assembling/disassembling a computer, installing different windows operating systems (Windows NT/2000, XP/Vista/7/8/10, and Linux), and an introduction to Networking, Security, Customer Service, and the Internet.

Upon completion of training, students need to pass two exams. Both exams are computer based and involve multiple choice questions. After completing both of these exams for certification, students can qualify to work as a Computer Repair Technician and/or a Computer Help Desk Support Specialist.

Learning Objectives

CompTIA A+ 220-901 covers PC hardware and peripherals, mobile device hardware, networking and troubleshooting hardware and network connectivity issues. CompTIA A+ 220-902 covers installing and configuring operating systems including Windows, iOS, Android, Apple OS X and Linux. It also addresses security, the fundamentals of cloud computing and operational procedures.
