An introduction to systems thinking, lateral thinking, and resilience thinking as they relate to cybersecurity. Topics include understanding the complexity/interconnectedness of cybersecurity, applying lateral thinking in solving cyber problems, interacting among people, processes, and technologies, and managing disturbances/surprises/uncertainty to be more resilient.
Learning Objectives
The learning objectives are to apply systems thinking, lateral thinking, cyber operations, and resilience thinking to improve the cyber-physical and information systems security posture of an entity, analyze how the consideration of ethics, laws, policies, and governance influence and improve the decision-making process when designing an overall cybersecurity scheme, explore how cyber system thinking impacts operation, resiliency, and metrics of cybersecurity solutions, analyze how cyber systems thinking can be used to holistically develop comprehensive people, processes, technology, and metrics policies, and evaluate the effectiveness of operational cyber activities using cyber systems thinking.
