Course Description

In depth examination of criteria for software quality and the types of development processes that support its creation. Best practices in software development are examined as well as case studies in software design and maintenance. Individual assignments and some group work as well.

Students who complete this course successfully will be able to: 1) describe the security goal and values in software engineering; 2) measure and identify the weakness in the system; 3) incorporate requirements into secured software development process and test software for security vulnerability; 4) apply secure design principles for developing attack resistant software product; 5) identify vulnerable code in implemented software and describe attack consequences;
