NCSAM 2019: Own, Secure, and Protect Your Digital Space

The Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA), in partnership with the National Cyber Security Alliance (NCSA), are pleased to announce the theme of this year’s National Cybersecurity Awareness Month (NCSAM): Own IT. Secure IT. Protect IT. NCSAM aims to increase awareness of the importance of cybersecurity and to encourage all Americans to be responsible technology users. Throughout October, CISA and NCSA will emphasize the role each individual plays and stress the importance of taking proactive steps to enhance cybersecurity at home and in the workplace. The theme “Own IT. Secure IT. Protect IT.” encourages everyone – including both individuals and businesses – to be accountable for their cybersecurity and enact positive user behavior change by enabling Multi-Factor Authentication, updating privacy settings, creating strong passwords, and maintaining good cyber hygiene.

As NCSAM 2019 approaches, CISA will release information about events and resources available to all throughout October. Stay tuned for updates on the NICCS website. In the meantime, we encourage organizations to begin thinking about how they will advocate for NCSAM and to use the above NCSAM 2019 Logo on their resources.

For more information about NCSAM 2019, logos, and messaging, please reach out to or visit the NICCS NCSAM website. We hope you will join us this October in supporting NCSAM 2019 and help us build a safer and more secure online experience for everyone.
